Buying a home can appear at first to be a daunting task, but if your Realtor is doing their job, this can be a pleasurable experience.
General Steps in Purchasing a home are as follows: 1. Meet with your Realtor, decide on a general price range, location, and any other various wants and needs you would like in your new home. 2. Get pre-qualified with a lending company, this will give you a more exact picture of the type and price of homes you should look for. 3. Make a list of the top six to ten homes that you would like to see and have your Realtor tour them with you. 4. Choose the homes that you are the most interested in, and have the Realtor do background work for you, to help you make your final decision. 5. When you are ready to make an offer, discuss with your Realtor the best method and get their suggestions as to the amounts and contingencies. 6. Your Realtor then presents your offer to the sellers thru their agent. If they agree to the offer, then we move on to prepare for closing. If they counter offer, then you decide to counter back, etc. 7. Once a contract has been agreed upon, your Realtor will set up pest and home inspections, financing, appraisals, attorneys, surveyors if needed, etc. 8. Close to closing, you will do a final walk thru to assure that all repairs have been completed and property is ready for transfer of ownership. 9. Attend the closing and sign all paperwork etc., get the keys to your new home! 10. MOVE IN!
